Hello.......

Prekshu today recognised the word "mobile" and surprised me. It happened today afternoon when I was searching for my mobile to call her "dada". I was asking loudly "where is mummy's mobile?".......... and she suddenly kept her hands to her ear and said "itha". I followed my usual technique of asking the same thing a couple more times to make sure it was not by coincidence. Earlier she used to learn a new thing once in a week, now its almost two or three things a day. Just yesterday, she learnt to put her hand or her toy mobile to her ear like we do. And the day before yesterday, she recognised mine and her shadows. It was so funny to see her doing actions sitting close to the wall and enjoying the fact that the shadow does the same. When she saw my long shadow beside hers, she stood up and was trying to reach it. Hmmm, she is really growing fast. Not long before I will have to watch my words in front of her, I guess. With Prekshu around, theres no getting bored. Theres always something new and exciting around the corner.Trust me, motherhood is real bliss and I can imagine my hubby commenting that "So is fatherhood"!!

Prekshu's First Cold

Hmmm...................Yes. Prekshu has caught her first real cold, thanks to the dipping temperature. She also has a temperature. But "touch wood", she is not down with it. She is still active though not as active as her usual self.
Poor baby has a blocked nose which is constantly running making it difficult for her and for us to sleep through the night. She has partly lost her appetite and looks pale.
Praying that she will be fine soon.

The Talkative Prekshu

I have been regularly irregular in posting anything here about Prekshu's activities. Thats because I am busy writing a very long blog about Prekshu from the day of her birth till now...........for the purpose of setting the context. But guess that will have to wait now.

Prekshu is busy talking these days, mostly unrecognisable blabberings, but a couple of recognisable words too. She says "bow" very clearly every time she sees a dog in the park or the road. She even recognises a dog on the tv or in a book. The other word she is always saying is "itha" meaning here. When we ask her, "Prekshu evide?" meaning "Wheres Prekshu", she says "itha" instantly or sometimes even before we can complete the question ;-)

Now she also says "dada" for daddy, but everytime I teach her to say "amma" meaning mom, she purses her lips adamantly. But today when I told her "Tell amma", she pointed her index finger, a skill she acquired more than a month ago, and touched my nose and said "itha". I repeated the question many times to make sure it was not fluke and she responded the same way by touching me and saying "itha" and my joy knew no bounds. Prekshu uttering "amma" is not very far away I guess.
